About Us

Storybook architecture and craftsmanship have disappeared as mass production and economies of scale have reduced the old world aspects of architecture and construction that inspire people. We want to bring that back by creatively using today's materials like concrete, plywood, glass and even drywall in ways that evoke the great homes from earlier times.

Storybook owner Bob Johnston is a 1988 graduate of Washington State University and earned a degree in Construction Management. A homebuilding veteran with 20 years experience he's seen trends come and go and wants to concentrate on projects that will endure.

Our Process

Successful projects are borne from good planning, communication and implementation. We strive to anticipate problems before they can occur and to ensure everyone is on the same page by using state of the art software that keeps everyone in the loop.

Preconstruction Design

We feel it's helpful for the builder to be part of the design process to provide instant feedback on cost.

Construction Budget

We do everything we can to keep cost surprises to a minimum. Providing tight, detailed budgets is how this is accomplished.
